The IHM Top 5 of 2010

5) When I Was Joe by Keren David  I really enjoyed this one.  The story was engaging, the writing fun, and the characters were believable, plus the novelty of the British slang catapulted it onto this list for me!
4) The Life of Glass by Jillian Cantor Such a great book - powerful, heart wrenching, and set in my favorite place, the desert.
3) Guardian of the Gate by Michelle Zink An amazing sequel to an amazing first book - a rarity among sequels, and a rarity among fiction.
2) The Dark Divine by Bree Despain - a fantastic debut that technically came out in December of '09, but wasn't read by many until 2010 (including me!)  LOVED it, and highly recommend it.
1) Nevermore by Kelly Creagh My book of the year, simply because Kelly made me fall for a goth boy and I want more.  Now. Oh yeah, and the Edgar Allan Poe element.  That pretty much cements it at the top of the list for me.
