November Steals [Saturday Steals]

Okay, so Saturday Steals at Archives of Our Lives has gone once-monthly for the time being.  I have purchased a few books at good prices this month already, so I'm going to share them with you, plus I'm adding some links for books we've read/reviewed that are smokin' right now at the bottom.

I bought Adam Rex's Fat Vampire for $4.18. (and now it's $3.76!)
Doug Lee is undead quite by accident—attacked by a desperate vampire, he finds himself cursed with being fat and fifteen forever. When he has no luck finding some goth chick with a vampire fetish, he resorts to sucking the blood of cows under cover of the night. But it's just not the same.

Then he meets the new Indian exchange student and falls for her—hard. Yeah, he wants to bite her, but he also wants to prove himself to her. But like the laws of life, love, and high school, the laws of vampire existence are complicated—it's not as easy as studying Dracula. Especially when the star of Vampire Hunters is hot on your trail in an attempt to boost ratings. . . .

Searing, hilarious, and always unexpected, Fat Vampire is a satirical tour de force from one of the most original writers of fiction today.

Forget-Her-Nots by Amy Brecount White is on sale for $6.80.

And I'm totally excited about Lindsey Leavitt's Princess for Hire being available for $6.80 too! (read chapter one)
When an immaculately dressed woman steps out of an iridescent bubble and asks you if you'd like to become a substitute princess, do you

a) run
b) faint
c) say Yes!

For Desi Bascomb, who's been longing for a bit of glamour in her Idaho life, the choice is a definite C--that is, once she can stop pinching herself.  As her new agent Meredith explains, Desi has a rare magical ability: when she applies the ancient Egyptian formula "Royal Rouge," she can transform temporarily into the exact lookalike of any princess who needs her subbing services. Dream come true, right?

Well, Desi soon discovers that subbing involves a lot more than wearing a tiara and waving at cameras. Like, what do you do when a bullying older sister puts you on a heinous crash diet? Or when the tribal villagers gather to watch you perform a ceremonial dance you don't know? Or when a princess's conflicted sweetheart shows up to break things off--and you know she would want you to change his mind?

In this hilarious, winning debut, one girl's dream of glamour transforms into something bigger: the desire to make a positive impact. And an impact Desi makes, one royal fiasco at a time.
Also available on the cheap at Amazon are the following:

Only The Good Spy Young (Gallagher Girls #4) $6.80
Heist Society $6.80
The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove $4.00
Blue Bloods (1st three books box set) $10.00
