The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: "Is The Magic Worth The Money?" [News]

We asked you last week if Harry would make it into your vacation plans anytime soon.  Those who commented were pretty upbeat and positive about it.  I was too.  After watching the video by newsy.com, my perception has changed a little, and I wonder if yours will to? "Is the magic worth the money?"

Newsy.com contacted me and asked if I'd want to add this video to our site as part of the discussion regarding the opening and perceptions of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

I love Islands of Adventure and I'll visit to see the new area, but it will be to see the park as a whole, not just that area. Talking about costs, have you priced a Disney ticket lately? All the theme parks are expensive, the cheapest way to do it is to buy multiple park tickets or annual passes - of course if you don't live in the area that might not be an option.

To be honest, I don't really see a problem. I've got an Orlando trip booked for this year, but it's really just a coincidence that my trip is booked for the year the HP area opens. My feeling is that the HP area will add something to the trip, but I wouldn't be paying out *just* to see a lifesize replica of Hogwarts castle. That video was really interesting though - my partner is going to be *so* psyched that you can buy replica wands! Thanks for sharing it.

I'm still excited. It's foolish not to expect that things in Orlando are going to be very expensive. It's a tourist destination. People don't HAVE to go and if do decide to, they don't have to buy the souvenirs. The prices of the Harry Potter stuff is on par with the rest of the Disney and Universal souvenir items. And there are probably tons of people who will be more than willing to pay triple the sticker price on eBay to get these things.

I probably wouldn't be able to afford it :(

While I think I still want to go, and agree that the prices are on par with most other parks, I am reevaluating whether or not it would be worth it to me, especially since I'm not local.

I have been a couple of times at Island of Adventure and it has been always expensive....Actually, all theme parks are expensive. If I can, I will go, because you cant find something like that at any other place!
