Read Outdoors During National Parks Week [Events]

Long-time readers will know that I have a passion for the outdoors.  I haven't talked about it much lately, or even posted many pictures of myself out and about hiking with my books, but trust me, I still do it.  For those of us in the US and its territories, Saturday marks the beginning of National Parks Week (April 17-25), where you can get into our national parks for free.  To the left is a picture from last year (some of you may remember it) of me reading THE HUNGER GAMES by Upper Yosemite Fall in Yosemite National Park in California.

Reading outdoors (as long as you have used the appropriate amount of bug repellent) can be really fun and especially relaxing.  I urge you to take advantage of a beautiful April and find a place to read outside, and experience nature, and literature for that matter, in a whole new way, whether you're in the US or not.

If you are in the US, and have a national park near you, why not take advantage of the fee-free week and enjoy some of the most beautiful places America has to offer?  We're still working out which one we'll visit, but we will definitely be making an effort to go.  How about you?  Are you planning to visit one of our national parks, or a natural area near you this upcoming week?

Sweet! I'll have to look into going to a national park this week. I have been to so many, but I usually go in the summertime. Time to change that.
I agree that reading outside can be relaxing. :)
