RADIANT DARKNESS, GOOD GIRLS [Saturday Steals]

Happy Saturday everyone!

I'm chilling out here on my couch, writing this on Wednesday (because you all know that I'm in San Diego right now), and I've found a couple of amazing deals this week that I just had to share with you.

First, a book that's been on my wishlist for a loooooong while, RADIANT DARKNESS by Emily Whitman. I'm sure you'll notice that I get a lot of my deals on Amazon in the Bargain Books section, so yeah, I guess I'm kinda sharing one of my secrets with you, though it's a pretty crappy secret I guess since it's such a public site.  Anyway, this hardcover was marked down to $6.80, which I was happy to pay. (16.99-6.80 = $10.19 savings or 60%off)

He smiles. "Hello."

It's a deep voice. I can feel it reverberate in my chest and echo all the way down to my toes.

I know I should leave, but I don't want to. I want to keep my senses like this forever. I'm all eye, all ear, all skin.

Persephone lives in the most gorgeous place in the world. But her mother's a goddess, as overprotective as she is powerful. Paradise has become a trap. Just when Persephone feels there's no chance of escaping the life that's been planned for her, a mysterious stranger arrives. A stranger who promises something more—something dangerous and exciting—something that spurs Persephone to make a daring choice. A choice that could destroy all she's come to love, even the earth itself.

In a land where a singing river can make you forget your very name, Persephone is forced to discover who—and what—she really is.

My second steal of the week was a paperback copy of GOOD GIRLS by Laura Ruby. I paid a whopping $1.30 for this paperback, again, Amazon Bargain Books section. (8.99-1.30 = $7.69 savings or 86% off)

Some people would say this is the story of a photograph. How it was taken, and what happened to me after the whole world saw it.
And it is.

But it's also the story of a lot of other things. A boy so beautiful he's like a punch to the throat. Best friends -- the outrageous old ones and the out-of-the-blue new. It's about fishnets and eyebrow rings and a chick named Hamlet. Kick lines at lumber yards and conga lines at prom. Crying in cars and gazing at stars. Mistakes, misunderstandings and misconceptions. Good girls, bad boys, and everyone in between.

This is a story about love.

So, look at the picture all you want.

I am so much more than what you see.

I adore this meme brought to us by Archives of Our Lives, and hope that you'll consider participating in Saturday Steals... these do not have to be book steals, but can be grocery steals, clothing steals, or heck, pet supply steals, just write a post about the deals you got this week and link it up over at Archives of Our Lives.

Nice ones!
I quite often see some great-priced books on Amazon, but the shipping would cost way too much to make it worthwhile unfortunately.

@Aye.Me? - We're members of Amazon Prime, so we, luckily, do not have to pay for shipping on each item. *phew*

When I saw the post title, I thought it was just a space-saving combo of Beautiful Darkness and Radiant Shadows.

But this looks quite good...

The last two books that I found in the bargain bin were out of stock by the time I tried to complete the purchase. ;)
