THE LIFE OF GLASS by Jillian Cantor [Book Signing Report] [Giveaway] [Monster Birthday Party]

Jillian Cantor was at Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe, AZ on 2.27.10 at 4pm in the afternoon. The audience was small due to a printed time typo in the store's event calendar, but it seemed like we asked as many questions about THE LIFE OF GLASS, or maybe even more questions than are usually asked at a similar event. Check out the video below to hear Jillian read some excerpts from THE LIFE OF GLASS, and to see some of the questions that were asked and summaries of her answers.

The question I asked, which I did not include above because I was totally flustered when I asked it and couldn't get my stinking brain to spit out the words I wanted, and therefore asked a completely different question than I intended (ugh!) was this: Was it easier to write THE LIFE OF GLASS because you were looking at the landscape it was set in while you were writing? She answered with a yes and no because THE SEPTEMBER SISTERS, her first YA book was set in a town similar to where she grew up in Pennsylvania.

I'm reading this book right now, and am blown away by its awesome. Literally.

THE LIFE OF GLASS is set in my native state of Arizona and I think Jillian does an amazing job of depicting my beautiful desert in this book. Oh and FYI, Jillian is an Arizona author, and she's in good company as an Arizona author because fellow AZ authors include Lisa McMann, Aprilynne Pike, Janette Rallison, and Stephenie Meyer. We heart our Arizona authors, 'cause Arizona authors are blazin' hot, literally.
