Kimberly Derting of THE BODY FINDER [Debut Interview]

Hometown: Kent, Washington (and I never did venture too far from there)
Astrological Sign: A stubborn Aries (just ask my husband)! ;)
Favorite Author: Favorite book is easy; author is a little harder because it tends to change. But I’d probably have to say Harper Lee anyway, just because To Kill a Mockingbird is my all-time favorite book.
Favorite Vacation Spot: Maui (everyone needs some sunshine now and again, even more so when you live in rainy Washington)
Favorite Animal: Horses, because I’ve ALWAYS wanted one!
Favorite Movie: The Last of the Mohicans (and not just because of Daniel Day Lewis)
Favorite Musical Artist or Group: Okay, this is where my age shows! Stevie Wonder. Especially his earlier years (which was even before my time).
Favorite Painter: Van Gogh. There’s something very lovely about his forceful brushstrokes. Plus I really like the song “Starry Starry Night” by Don McLean, it’s tragically beautiful.
Place You Desperately Want To Travel: London, definitely!
Place Most Likely To Inspire: The woods. Any woods. I love the layers, the textures, the sounds…pretty much everything about them.
A Little About Your Book In Your Own Words:The idea for THE BODY FINDER actually came when my husband and I were driving one day and he said “what if there was a boy who could find dead bodies?” And, of course, being an Aries, I had to be difficult, and decided that the main character should be a girl, and that there should be an intense romance in it. But in his mind, he’s still the “co-author.”

THE BODY FINDER will be in stores March 16, 2010!

I think it is sweet when she said her husband still thinking of himself as the co-author of the book :) I've heard that the book is so good, so I'm hoping that I'd get the chance to devour this one soon.
