Book Titles That Make You Smile [You're The Expert]

I kinda really like walking by my bookshelves. I like looking at the books I have to read and the books that I have read. I usually glance over at the shelves on my way into the kitchen or out to the car. I catch titles out of the corner of my eye, and they make me smile. Not always, but when they do, I just can't help it.

There are certain titles that make me smile every time my eye catches them. For instance, I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter makes me grin because of the title itself. Its such a fun title. Every time I walk by and see Eyes Like Stars, I smile because I think of the fairies, and how they made me laugh all through the book. Every time my eye catches Pride & Prejudice, I smile because, well doesn't everyone smile when they think about Lizzy and Darcy? When I catch Moon Guide: Zion & Bryce, I instantly think of the hiking trip Monster and I took there last year and all of the great memories we have from it.

There are even some I haven't read yet that sit on my shelf that make me smile. When I see Struts & Frets, I smile because the cover reminds me of Monster. You Are So Undead To Me makes me smile partly because of the clever title, and partly in anticipation of reading it.

So... does this ever happen to you? When you're walking by the shelves a title catches your eye and makes you smile? Or am I just a little nuts?

I smile when I see 'The Gates' by John Connolly because it has a cool cover and plot, and the tagline is 'mind the gap' which always makes me laugh for some reason. I like 'The Reformed Vampire Support Group' by Catherine Jinks because of the cover and fun name, so that makes me smile. So you're not weird.

I smile when I see my Christopher Moore books- I love the storylines and jokes. I also smile when I see my favorite book (Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates by Tom Robbins). My copy is a little worse for wear since I'd loaned it to someone years ago and that person exploded an Ecto Cooler all over it, but it kind of is in keeping with the book's character. I think bookshelves are a place where we express ourselves in a way, so this isn't weird at all to me. Great post!

I do that all the time, both with books that I've read, and those that I'm looking forward to reading. Sometimes I go upstairs to my room (where almost all of my books are) to get something, or put something away and end up rummaging through my shelves because I see a book that makes me smile. If anyone asks what I'm doing I tell them I'm cleaning, or rearranging the books, but really I'm just enjoying looking through them.

If that's crazy, well then I'm on the fast track to becoming a crazy book & cat lady. :)

Does anyone else get kind of excited about rearranging books on the shelves? Every once in awhile I'll decide I want the books in a different arrangement and feel really happy while I'm rearranging everything.

I love when I'm in a bookstore and I see one of my favorite books on the shelves. Especially when the books aren't as well known.

I have an award for you at my blog: http://bookwormcouchpotato.blogspot.com/2010/02/spreading-award-love.html

I do the same things! I have bookcases upstairs and downstairs and I love to look, sort, rearrange and even read my books! :) I have many that I haven't read yet and I can't wait to get to them. I have favorites that I've read and will always keep. I enjoy a catchy title too and a good cover always gets my attention.

You're not alone Alyce and Emily! I have fun doing the same thing. I guess I'll be the crazy book and cat lady too! :D
