Thank You, United States Armed Forces Veterans, We Heart You

Here in the United States, today and every November 11th is Veterans' Day.  Some may have noticed the yellow ribbon on the I Heart Monster logo.  It's always there, not just on November 11.  It's there because I appreciate those who serve my country, who risk their lives to protect my freedom.  It's there because I want those in the armed services and their families to know that I am grateful for what they sacrifice to ensure my safety and that of my family and to preserve my American way of life and values.  It's there because I am grateful to all of those who have served in wars both recognized and unrecognized, foreign, domestic, secret, unpopular, popular and those who served in "peace" time by giving service to those in need, all because they loved this country and what it stands for.  It's there because I am grateful for patriots that against all odds fought off organized military and won our Independence.  It's there because I am grateful for my freedoms and because I am grateful for the defense of my Constitution.  It's there because I think of them not just today, but every day.

But today is the day that our country has set aside to honor them, so today is the day that I devote a post to them and their families.  To those who serve, have served, and died serving this country, thank you.  I may not always agree with the politics of war, but I believe in you.  I heart you.  I pray for you.  I think about you.  I appreciate you.  Thank you. Sincerely. Thank you for serving.  It's noble and great and heroic.  You totally rock, all of you. Literal tears of gratitude stream down my face as I write this, and that's saying a lot because I just don't cry.
