You're The Expert: Read-A-Thon Techniques

So, some of you may be readathoners, some of you may not be. Since today is a hectic Read-A-Thon day for me, I thought I'd use this post to do two things:

1) Inform you as to my Read-A-Thon plans, and 2) Ask your opinion and advice on them.

I have a church Halloween party tonight that I am in charge of, so I can not read for the continuous 24 hours. Here's my plan:

5am-2:30pm: Read (9.5 hours)
2:30pm-3pm: Listen to audiobook while in car (.5 hours)
3pm-5pm: Listen to audiobook while scooping pumpkins (2 hours)
5pm-9pm: I've got a party to run. (it's a church party - hence the early end)
9pm-10pm: Clean-Up
10-11pm: Listen as I transition and get home and change (1 hour)
11pm-5am: Read (6 hours)

That'll give me around 19 hours of reading, which isn't 24, but hey, I'm doing what I can here.

Now, what I need from you are the following:
  • Techniques for staying awake.
  • Words of encouragement.
  • Any advice for paying attention to audiobooks while completing another task.
  • The answer to this question: Do you think I can do it? (seriously, do you?)
