Read-A-Thon Plans

So, I'm doing Dewey's Read-A-Thon on Saturday. I've been plugging it a little bit all month, but today, I thought I'd fill you in on my actual plans:

I put up a poll a couple of weeks ago to see what books out of the ten I selected you guys thought I should read first in the Read-A-Thon. Here are the results:
So. I've got the stack of 5 books sitting on my bed ready to go when I wake up on Saturday morning. I'll be starting with Wake by Lisa McMann. The other four in the pile will be: The Devouring by Simon Holt, Cross My Heart And Hope To Spy by Ally Carter, Looking for Alaska by John Green, and Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty by Jody Gehrman. If by some miracle I finish five books (highly unlikely!) I'll move on to The Vamps and The Darkangel.

There is about a six or seven, maybe eight hour period on Saturday afternoon/evening that I have to set up for a Halloween party and then do the party planner thing where I make sure everything goes as planned. For some of that time, I will be listening to The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong on my Blackberry to keep up with the 'thon. Other times I will be unable to read or listen, and I'm just going to have to be okay with that.

Saturday's You're The Expert will revolve around strategies to keep me going throughout the Read-A-Thon and I hope that you guys will contribute if you have a chance and are not reading. My hour by hour reading schedule is going to be listed on that post, so keep your eyes peeled if you're interested.

Also, if you read IHM and you are planning to participate, I'd love it LOVE IT love it if you could just make a quick comment below filling in your site in ECHO so that I can visit your posts on Sunday. It's selfish, I know, but I'd love to hear from you my dear readers, and I feel like I'm going to be crazy with my own reading and may not get to cheerlead much on Saturday, but I still want to see how you all do.

I'm planning updates every three hours, even by Blackberry if necessary. There'll be a post at 5a, 8a, 11a, 2p, 5p, 8p, 11p, 2a, &5a. So, if you're not interested in hearing about the 'thon, just tune out on Saturday, and back in on Sunday for Ambitious Edition. I do believe you can still sign-up to participate, so if your weekend plans just got the kibosh, and reading for 24 hours sounds like a fun challenge, go sign up!
