Storybuilders! Eyes Like Stars Style: Come Add Your Line!

This week, let's build a fanfiction story about Bertie, the main character in Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev that drops today. If you don't know much about Bertie, read on below to learn a little before you add a line. If you're already familiar with her, add away! This week's start is brought to us by Lisa herself! Thanks Lisa!

Bertie stared in horror at her tiny fairy cohorts. "What have you DONE?!"

Background on Bertie:

All her world’s a stage.Bertie Shakespeare Smith is not an actress, yet she lives in a theater.
She’s not an orphan, but she has no parents.
She knows every part, but she has no lines of her own.
That is, until now.
Enter Stage Right
NATE. Dashing pirate. Will do anything to protect Bertie.
COBWEB, MOTH, MUSTARD SEED, and PEASEBLOSSOM. Four tiny and incredibly annoying fairies. BERTIE’S sidekicks.
ARIEL. Seductive air spirit and Bertie’s weakness. The symbol of impending doom.
BERTIE. Our heroine.
Welcome to the Théâtre Illuminata, where the actors of every play ever written can be found behind the curtain. They were born to play their parts, and are bound to the Théâtre by The Book—an ancient and magical tome of scripts. Bertie is not one of them, but they are her family—and she is about to lose them all and the only home she has ever known.
Lisa Mantchev has written a debut novel that is dramatic, romantic, and witty, with an irresistible and irreverent cast of characters who are sure to enchant the audience.
Open Curtain

The Rules:

1. Each person can only add two sentences.
2. You may not post two consecutive entries (otherwise it wouldn't be wiki-ish), but you may come back and add on after someone else has added their entry.
3. Let's try to keep it PG.
4. You can designate new paragraphs and time pauses if you want to.
5. HAVE FUN!

Last Week's Story: Aaron & The Feet

Aaron got out of bed and went downstairs. His stomach was growling like it usually did when he woke up in the mornings, so he headed for the kitchen to make his favorite breakfast, everything bagels with banana jam. As he stuck the bagels in the toaster, he noticed two feet pointing out from behing the window's curtains : someone was hiding in his kitchen!

Aaron slowly walked up to the two feet and opened the curtains. To his amazement there was nothing there! "What in the...?" Aaron stood there, let his pulse calm down, heard his stomach growl again and started back toward the kitchen, but an arm came from in front of him, seeming to have no owner, and grabbed onto the front of his shirt. He flung the arm off of him, watching it disappear into nothing as he suddenly noticed the red handprint on his shirt left by the arm's owner. As he turned around he saw a tall cloaked figure beckoning to the disembodied feet, which scuttled out from their hiding place in the cupboard (how did the feet see him beckoning? no idea).

Aaron opened his mouth to scream, but before he uttered a sound a giant clown in full make-up jumped out of the cupboard, chasing him as he ran back upstairs toward his bedroom shrieking like a little girl.

Then he heard this knocking sound. Wait, how did he get to his room already? Oh, wait, it's knocking at my door.

"Aaron, Aaron honey. Wake up! Let me in! It's just a bad dream." his mom cried through the locked bedroom door. How embarassing, Aaron thought as he got out of bed to answer the door, but wait, how did my door get locked?
