I Heart Monster is Yosemite Bound (poll)

A week from tomorrow, Monster and I are taking a trip to Yosemite National Park. Since we're not staying in a posh hotel, rather in the lush wilderness, I have to limit the number of books that I take with me. Boo. I'm taking two books with me for 5 days. We're going to be doing a couple of really grueling hikes while we're in Yosemite, the least of which is hiking to the top of North America's tallest waterfall, Upper Yosemite Fall. So I thought it would be fun to let you all decide which of the books in my to-read pile gets hauled all the way to the top. When I'm at the top, I'll take a picture of me reading the book and then I'll share it with you guys when I get back.

You can vote using the poll to the left of my ramblings here.

What will happen to IHeartMonster.com while I'm off galavanting in the wilderness? Nothing. I'm working really hard right now so that you don't miss any of the goodness while I'm gone.

I'm just praying that I don't get eaten by a black bear while we're camping out in the National Forest near Yosemite. I've purchased my
BearVault 450 and my BearVault 500, so hopefully the bears don't come looking for some yummy I Heart Monster in the middle of the night.

If you're curious as to what we're doing while we're there, you can check out my
meticulously planned itinerary. I'm kind of a nerd like that and plan most of our trips out to the half hour. If you're not interested, I'm not hurt, don't worry.

So vote now and tell all of your friends to come and vote too. The list to the left is randomized, so these titles are in no particular preferential order to me. I think they are all equally deserving of my attention which is why I need your help.

Trail Info:
One of Yosemite oldest historic trails (built 1873 to 1877), the Yosemite Falls Trail leads to the top of North America’s tallest waterfall 2,425 feet (739 m) above the Valley floor. Do not stray off the marked path, as you will find steep drops adjacent to the trail. Enjoy spectacular views from Columbia Rock located one mile (and dozens of switchbacks) from the trailhead.

Trail Length: 7.8 miles round trip
Elevation Gain: 2800 feet. (yikes!)
Average Time: 6-8 hours

I'll post the poll results next Saturday while I'm packing!

OMG. I have to learn a case study on Yosemite Park for geography. There's El Portal, El Capitan and Tuolomne Meadows. There's also some other random information that I know. They used to have a main road with two lanes. I can talk about their sustainable development and many other random things. Have fun :D

I voted for P & P & zombies because that would look very cool photographed in the wilderness :)

Well I know Princess Ben sucks and a lot of bloggers including me are black listing Quirk (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) for that nasty letter they sent out. I vote for Graceling because it keeps popping up and I want to read a review before I buy it. You are having my husbands dream vacation that we were supposed to have this summer but I got meself pregnant haha. Btw nice work with the updated comment form.

If you can only take two, than it has to be Graceling and Hunger Games. You'll not be disappointed.

I promise I will post a link to pictures :o) They're supposedly going to open Glacier Point Road while we're there! I guess it'll still have a lot of snow off to the side. We're going to hike Half Dome too in addition to a few other waterfall trails.

I couldn't jump on the blacklist bandwagon, 'cause I just didn't feel like it was the author's fault about how the person promoting his book handled themself... but I totally respect those of us who are boycotting it. I'm sad to hear that Princess Ben sucks :o(

Anyway, I've had to reschedule this trip like 3 times over the last few years because of "life." I'll be sure to post a link to pics so your hubbie can salivate over the trip ;O) Congrats again on getting married and on having a baby on the way! That's so stinking exciting :o) And now that I've written a book in response... I'm glad you like the comment form!!

Seriously, everyone tells me that those two are awesomesauce... I wish I could tell which one was going to win so that I could start the one that wasn't going to win!! Thanks for stopping by and voting :o)
