Book Inspection: Being Nikki by Meg Cabot

Do NOT read Plot Sketch if you haven't read Airhead... may contain spoilers!
Plot Sketch: Em Watts is back. Yes, she's in Nikki Howard's body, but she's still Em Watts. She's pretty bummed about it too. Em is now realizing how much limited family time she's going to have with her real family and she's trying to appease Nikki's family at the same time. Lulu, her roommate, still thinks she's had a spirit transfer. Nikki's family needs her help, and Em delivers. There's more interaction with Christopher and Brandon Stark. Don't forget about Stark Enterprises aka Evil Empire. There are rebel doctors and secret hiding places too.

Verdict: I Heart It!! Ok. Honestly, I gave this book an I Heart It only because a few things redeemed it. 1) Meg Cabot wrote it, and I'm a loyal fan. 2) Some of the plot toward the end caught me off guard. I'm not saying it wasn't predictable, but it caught me off guard. Those two things said, this is my least favorite Meg Cabot novel to date. There were six or seven times that the wording was just awkward and I found myself thinking Meg was trying too hard. Will I tune in for Runaway, the next installment of the Em Watts/Nikki Howard saga? You bet.

Strictly chicklit.
