I'm Participating In A Read-a-Thon!

I was just catching up on some reading of other blogs when I spotted B&b ex libris posted about a read-a-thon. I thought,"What a great idea!" So I kept reading and found that she was reading for charity. So, I started to dig a little deeper and found that Dewey's Read-a-Thon is a biannual event. Then I was like, "I wanna do it!" So I found the date (April 18th), checked my calendar, and found that it was blank. Folks, next Saturday isn't empty anymore! I'm going to participate in Dewey's Read-a-Thon.

I Heart Monster is going to read for Big City Mountaineers. BCM's mission is: "Enhancing the lives of underresourced urban teens through transformative outdoor experiences." It is a charity that I whole-heartedly support and feel is very important.

I will donate an extra $3 for each book I read during Dewey's Read-a-Thon (I already donate monthly to this wonderful charity). Will you join me by donating something per book? It can be a quarter, a dollar, even a penny. Pledge your donation in the comments section. I will keep you updated throughout the Read-a-Thon to see how I'm doing and how many books I've finished...I'm planning to go the whole 24 hours, but who knows if I'll be able to hack it and hang with the hardcore 'thon-ers.

I'm working on compiling a list of the books that I'll have by my side to select from for the 'thon. I'll be sure to post it ahead of time. I'm excited!! If you have any suggestions, leave them in the comments (along with your pledge ;op)

I pledge after I see the books you are going to read. Then I can make a more honest offering.
